With little more than a canvas, a splash of color and the inspiration of deserving children in Uganda, Please Mum turned the Ayden Gallery in Vancouver into a children's storybook on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009.
By reaching out to the local art community, Please Mum was able to gather artists from across the lower mainland who then donated their time and talents to create beautiful works of art that were sold during a silent auction.
The money raised was donated to the Abetavu Children's Home in Uganda; an initiative started by a young woman from the lower mainland who touched our hearts and inspired us to help her help the children.
Through various fundraising efforts, including this art show, Please Mum has raised over $25,000 for Abetavu, and we could not have done it without your support and the hard work of so many talented local artists.
The stunning works of art are a reminder that we can each do our part to help, even if the people we're helping live on the other side of the world.
