THE PLEASE MUM FOUNDATION FUND
How to Apply for Funds
There is a two-stage process for the submission of Grant applications.
First Stage: Letter of Intent Form
The Letter of Intent is a quick, first step in applying for a grant and it allows the Please Mum Foundation Fund to screen many applications. Applicants should receive a response within three weeks of Please Mum's receipt of the application. If your application is unsuccessful this time please try again in the future. We want you to be successful with your application!
The Letter of Intent can be found here in PDF form. Simply fill out this document and submit it via email to:
foundationfund@pleasemum.com
or print and mail it to:
Please Mum Foundation Fund 333 Woodland Drive Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V5L 3P6
Questions can also be forwarded to the addresses above.
Second Stage: Grant Application
If your Letter of Intent is approved, you will be sent a more detailed Grant Application Form. Upon receipt of the completed application, a Grants Committee will adjudicate the project.
If you receive a grant from Please Mum Foundation Fund, we will request a brief account of the successes and pitfalls of your completed project. In certain circumstances, we will consider making a donation to projects beyond the current year. If so, we would ask for an evaluation of the project including financial data. Appropriate forms would be sent as necessary.
Qualifying Criteria
- The project must fall into one or all of the following themes: communication (including fine arts), socialization and recreation.
- Emphasis will be given to projects from schools that include a large population of children whose families require financial assistance.
- The project must be sponsored by an elementary school.
Budget Guidelines
- Please Mum will fund up to fifty percent of a project
- Please Mum will not fund anything that would normally be paid for by government funding
- The project should not show a dependency on future funding from the Please Mum Foundation Fund but successful applicants can apply again next year
