OUR COMMUNITY

Since opening our first store in Burnaby, BC in 1986, Please Mum has been actively involved in the community and in charities across Canada and around the world. Over the years we have supported both local and global organizations, including World Vision, Children's hospitals, Canwest's Raise a Reader, Samaritan's Purse, the Vancouver Food Bank and YWCA Inner Circle. We have a quarterly blood drive and contribute to earthquake and other disaster relief efforts.

This past year we helped fund a trip to Music Fest in Ottawa for a choir from Quinson Elementary School in Prince George, B.C. The Quinson Choristers had heart and talent but not quite enough money to get there on their own financial steam. After Please Mum donated fifteen thousand dollars to their cause, they got there. They did their whole hometown proud by winning the Gold Medal standing, the festival's highest award. This story inspired us to establish the Please Mum Foundation Fund, which helps finance worthy initiatives that bring hope and fun to the lives of underprivileged children across Canada.
